L' Eremo is situated in the middle of a magical forest where you will find a tower dating back to the 17th century offering 5 bedrooms, an original, newly renovated Umbrian kitchen, living room, and dining room.
In a clearing of Monte Lagello, in a dreamily, peaceful place about 2 km from the village of Mercatello, near Marsciano, you will find a small dirt road that leads you to L' Eremo.
After you pass through the pinewoods, you will submerge in a forest out of a fairy tale, where you can't quite be sure that gnomes, fairies, and dwarves aren't watching you!
Antique pictures and the traditional structure of the property fulfil the illusion of a trip back in time. When you decide to journey up the winding staircase, you will discover a kitchen that any hobby chef will not want to leave.
The property is divided up as follows:
Ground floor:
Kitchen/dining area with original 17th century fireplace, access to the garden where it is possible to sun-bathe and dine in the open air;
1st Floor:
sitting room with fireplace, kitchen area, bathroom with shower and access to the large terrace.
2nd Floor:
1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom and bathroom with shower;
3rd Floor:
1 single room, 2 double bedrooms - one with a panoramic balcony and a bathroom with shower.
The building is heated with electric heaters. The top floor of the property gives way to the tower terrace. The views are truly breathtaking from here, the views look out to Orvieto, Todi, Perugia, Assisi and Spoleto.
The kitchen is well equipped with ample storage and is inclusive of a dishwasher. From the kitchen there is direct access to the lawn that has a full array of garden furniture.
This property is ideally located for seeing the delights of both Tuscany and Umbria. All the major art centres are within easy driving distance, however the large pool may entice you to stay and relax. You may choose to take a gentle walk or a leisurely cycle ride, all of which are all possible here.
Please note that the swimming pool at L' Eremo is shared with another one of our holiday properties, Casa Rosada. Casa Rosada is sitauated approximately 200 m away and can offer a further three apartments if your party is greater than 9 persons.
Be sure and visit cities such as Chiusi, Paciano, Cortona, Montepulciano, Montalcino (Sant´Antimo, Gregorian chants) Castiglione del Lago, Passignano del Lago, Perugia, Assisi, and Orvieto.

All holiday home prices are in € per week for the number of people stated in bold unless otherwise stated in € per day. The second number illustrated next to the number of persons who can stay represents the number of additional persons the property can cater for. Sofa beds are provided for additional persons unless it is otherwise stated that additional beds can be made available.
Accommodation weeks usually run from Saturday to Saturday and include linen, water, electricity, and gas unless otherwise stated. The heating costs and housekeeping fees are paid directly to the landlord and are dependent on usage. **Please be aware heating costs are expensive in Italy**.
Almost all landlords require a security deposit between 100 € and 250 € and for some of the more exclusive properties the deposit can be as much as 1000 €. The full balance of the deposit will be returned at the end of stay provided that the property is in the same condition and that are no damaged or broken items. All linens should be returned in the same number and unsoiled on departure. Terre Vitae reserve the right to request the balance due for any items that have been damaged and that have not been disclosed to the caretaker as a part of the contract signed prior to departure.
