The property has been carefully renovated and is light, airy and very spacious. La Capannina is complimented by the buildings original features such as the exposed chestnut beams and the traditional Tuscan brickwork.
La Capanna is a large house, surrounded by grass, simple gardens and olive groves. On the edge of a small 17th century village centered around a family villa, all the farmhouses have been restored. This house was renovated and furnished with special care to preserve the wood beamed ceilings and tile floors. The views are outstanding, particularly the view of Siena on its hill in the distance and the panoramic vista of rolling hills with vineyards and olive groves. La Capanna has an expansive terrace, suitably furnished for al fresco dining. The large swimming pool is set on a lower grassy terrace, surrounded by olive groves.
The property has an open living/dining and kitchen area with double-height cassetone ceilings and a large hearth. Dining is at a large, round, built-in table or outdoors on the terrace. The tiled kitchen is equipped with a 6-burner gas stove, oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, double sinks, and doors opening to the garden.
Downstairs you will find a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom (tub and hand-held shower), a twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom and shower, a studio room with a single bed and kitchenette.
As you proceed upstairs you will find a further 2 double bedrooms (one of them is on the gallery and is open to the living room below) and a further small bedroom with single bed and one bathroom with bath tub and hand held shower.
The coast can be easily reached from La Capanna within an hour and if you head south west to Grossetto you will discover its many sandy beaches which are wonderful day out for children and adults alike.
For the wine connoisseurs amongst you we recommend travelling to Castel Nuovo, Beradenga, Radda, Gaiole or Castellina in Chianti where you can taste the wines directly from the local cantinas.
Basic shopping is convenient at Pianella which is approximately 2 km away and there is a large supermarket which will cater for all of your needs on the outskirts of Siena, approximately 6 km away.
The owners of the family estate produce their own olive products, red wine and Vin Santo (The famous sweet Tuscan wine of the region), these are well worth a try and should be sampled before you leave.
If you feel like a lazy day at the property there are a number of leisure activities on offer to keep you amused. The facilities include a tennis court very close to your house.and the owners can organise horse riding, mountain biking, guided Chianti tours and cookery courses if you desire.

All holiday home prices are in € per week for the number of people stated in bold unless otherwise stated in € per day. The second number illustrated next to the number of persons who can stay represents the number of additional persons the property can cater for. Sofa beds are provided for additional persons unless it is otherwise stated that additional beds can be made available.
Accommodation weeks usually run from Saturday to Saturday and include linen, water, electricity, and gas unless otherwise stated. The heating costs and housekeeping fees are paid directly to the landlord and are dependent on usage. **Please be aware heating costs are expensive in Italy**.
Almost all landlords require a security deposit between 100 € and 250 € and for some of the more exclusive properties the deposit can be as much as 1000 €. The full balance of the deposit will be returned at the end of stay provided that the property is in the same condition and that are no damaged or broken items. All linens should be returned in the same number and unsoiled on departure. Terre Vitae reserve the right to request the balance due for any items that have been damaged and that have not been disclosed to the caretaker as a part of the contract signed prior to departure.
