Santa Margherita is located in Laviano, which is a locality between Cortona and Lake Trasimeno, within the last strip of land of the Municipality of Castiglione del Lago.
The main house has 4 vacation apartments, all of which have been beautifully renovated. The rooms are very spacious and roomy. The furnishings are luxurious and include wooden furniture, wrought iron beds and elegant lamps. The kitchens are well equipped so that all your culinary skills can be exercised.
You will enjoy the breathtaking panoramic beauty of the surrounding landscape, and includes wonderful views of Monte Amiata, Lago die Montepulciano, hills and fields enriched with sunflowers, cypress trees, pines, farms and hilly meadows upon which animals graze in the distance.
Just a few steps from the estate there is a small church Santa Margherita, which is wonderfully unique and was built in the 14th century. The steps of the church invite one to take a seat in the sun and enjoy the view. The house is in a very tranquil and calm location while at the same time is conveniently located near to all of major travel networks. Pozzuolo, approximately 2 kilometres away is great for shopping bars and dining.
In the garden, next to the barbecue and the children’s games, you’ll find the swimming pool. It is immersed in green and from it you can enjoy a nice view on the landscape of Valdichiana, Montepulciano, and Cortona.
Not far from the structure you’ll find the birth-house of Saint Margaret of Cortona. It was here that she spent the early years of her life.
The nearest town to Casa Margherita is Castiglione del Lago ,on Lake Trasimeno, 10 min. by car.
Santa Margherita is at the hearth of a vast natural area and is near the most interesting cultural and artistic centres like iPerugia, Assisi, Todi, Gubbio, Orvieto in Umbria, andArezzo, Siena, Cortona, Chiusi, Cetona, Pienza, Montepulciano in Tuscany, all of them you can reach in less than an hour.
The farm house is right near the prestigious area of Chianti, an area where passionate oenologists find the ideal places for the production of famous wine such as Brunello di Montalcino, Bianco Vergine della Valdichiana e Nobile di Montepulciano.
In the nearby area there are also several thermal spas like Chianciano Terme, Terme di Sant'Albino, Bagno Vignoni, Bagni di San Filippo, San Casciano dei Bagni.

All holiday home prices are in € per week for the number of people stated in bold unless otherwise stated in € per day. The second number illustrated next to the number of persons who can stay represents the number of additional persons the property can cater for. Sofa beds are provided for additional persons unless it is otherwise stated that additional beds can be made available.
Accommodation weeks usually run from Saturday to Saturday and include linen, water, electricity, and gas unless otherwise stated. The heating costs and housekeeping fees are paid directly to the landlord and are dependent on usage. **Please be aware heating costs are expensive in Italy**.
Almost all landlords require a security deposit between 100 € and 250 € and for some of the more exclusive properties the deposit can be as much as 1000 €. The full balance of the deposit will be returned at the end of stay provided that the property is in the same condition and that are no damaged or broken items. All linens should be returned in the same number and unsoiled on departure. Terre Vitae reserve the right to request the balance due for any items that have been damaged and that have not been disclosed to the caretaker as a part of the contract signed prior to departure.
