Podere Monelli is a fantastic, old, rustic estate on the border of Umbria and Tuscany in Petrignano del Lago, in an area virtually unknown to tourists. There are three large vacation apartments available to let in all and the gardens offer fantastic views of Montepulciano. The restoration of the estate was undertaken with great care, making sure every element of the structures were preserved, such as the original beams and fireplaces. The apartments are tasteful furnished and offer a warm and atmospheric welcome. |

The Apartments:
Apartment 1: Prato is the largest apartment catering for 7+1 persons. Access to the second story of the apartment is via a spiral staircase. There you will find a living room/bedroom with fireplace, and a bathroom with WC and shower. On the ground floor there is a living room with fireplace and kitchenette (including dishwasher), 3 bedrooms (three doubles & a single) and two bathrooms with showers and WC's.
Apartment 2: Pino is designed for 5+1 guests and has a small terrace, two double bedrooms, one single bedroom, two bathrooms with showers and a kitchen/ living room that is fully equipped with dishwasher.
Apartment 3: L´Olivo is again a large rustic aparftment sleeping five persons. The apartment has 3 bedrooms, two of these have double beds and the other bedroom is a single. L´Olivo has a very large living room, kitchen with dishwasher, covered terrace and a bathroom with shower and WC.
Apartment 4: Girasole is a large rustic apartment sleeping five persons. The apartment has three bedrooms; One these bedrooms is a double, the second is a twin room and the third bedroom is a single. The apartment has a large living / kitchen room with dishwasher, covered terrace and naturally two bathrooms with showers.
The vast grounds include a swimming pool, large garden and a shaded parking area. There is also an outdoor operational pizza oven. Here you can relax while enjoying the hilly Tuscan landscape. The view from here includes Montepulciano and Monte Amiata.
Petrignano del Lago is the closest village situated approximately 1 km away. Here you can go shopping in the Botega del Futuro. You will also find an excellent restaurant, a bar and hairdresser.
In the neighbouring village of Pozzuolo there is a bank, post office, pharmacy, and a bakery amongst other things. There is much to see in the surrounding regions of Tuscany and Umbria and are easily accessible and all close by.
Lago Trasimeno with its many islands offers many areas to sunbathe, hot springs, walking and bicycle trails, village festivals, concerts, theatrical productions, cafés, and traditional Italian restaurants, vineyards, oil presses, ceramic shops and weekly markets, all easily with reach.
Terontola's train station is only 10 minutes by car from Podere Monelli. From here trains leave hourly for Rome and Florence and offer a quick, safe, comfortable and inexpensive mode of transport.
Castiglione del Lago will act as your main shopping centre and is one of the most beautiful medieval towns by the lake. City gates and walls dating back to the middle ages surround the picturesque old town, which includes a piazza, a fountain, and a castle. There are many restaurants to choose from and the town's exquisite shops have much to offer. There are many smaller shops, selling typical products from the region and 3 large supermarkets. There are excellent transport links from the train station where there are regular services to the main towns and cities of Italy.
Be sure and visit cities such as Chiusi, Paciano, Cortona, Montepulciano, Montalcino (Sant´Antimo, Gregorian chants) Castiglione del Lago, Passignano del Lago, Perugia, Assisi, and Orvieto.

All holiday home prices are in € per week for the number of people stated in bold unless otherwise stated in € per day. The second number illustrated next to the number of persons who can stay represents the number of additional persons the property can cater for. Sofa beds are provided for additional persons unless it is otherwise stated that additional beds can be made available.
Accommodation weeks usually run from Saturday to Saturday and include linen, water, electricity, and gas unless otherwise stated. The heating costs and housekeeping fees are paid directly to the landlord and are dependent on usage. **Please be aware heating costs are expensive in Italy**.
Almost all landlords require a security deposit between 100 € and 250 € and for some of the more exclusive properties the deposit can be as much as 1000 €. The full balance of the deposit will be returned at the end of stay provided that the property is in the same condition and that are no damaged or broken items. All linens should be returned in the same number and unsoiled on departure. Terre Vitae reserve the right to request the balance due for any items that have been damaged and that have not been disclosed to the caretaker as a part of the contract signed prior to departure.
