La Contea is a renovated farmhouse that lies on the border between Umbria and Tuscany outside a small village called Pozzuolo. There are 4 vacation apartments available and each caters for between 4-6 persons. |

The apartments at La Contea are warming and spacious and on your arrival the wardrobes and dressers will offer plenty of space to unpack your things. You will be welcomed by the owners who are very pleasant people and will be there to greet you see to all your needs even though they do not live at the property. It is less than 2 km from the house to the local village of Pozzuolo, where you will find a bank, pharmacy, boutiques, a small supermarket, a butcher, a petrol station and more.
The apartments have been furnished with tasteful Umbrian style furniture and are also equipped with modern conveniences such as T.V and central heating to make your holiday even more enjoyable. Every apartment has its own entrance and consists of 2 bedrooms, large living/kitchen area, a bathroom with WC and shower and a covered carport for your car. Please note there are no washing machines or dishwashers however there is a laundrette in Castiglione del Lago.
The location of La Contea offers fantastic views over the surrounding Tuscan and Umbrian landscapes and there is plenty of garden space to sit outside in the sun or in the shade. For the sportier types amongst you you will find an exceptionally well maintained tennis court and pool on site making this property excellent value for money for family or friends alike, tennis raquets are provided with balls. If you prefer there is a small fishing lake near by which Luigi the owner will be happy to escort you to. The grounds offer plenty of room for seclusion or company, depending on your mood.
In the village there is a small bakery that you should be sure and visit. You can have a look at the huge bowls in which the dough is mixed and then take a freshly baked loaf of bread home with you. The small pizzas and Bomboloni (creme filled pastries) are also worth a try! The occupants of the village are simple, pleasant people. It is very easy to start a conversation them as they have not been overwhelmed with tourists. As with all locations around the lake, there are many sights to see that are quickly reached in both Tuscany and Umbria.
Castiglione del Lago will act as your main shopping centre and is one of the most beautiful medieval towns by the lake. City gates and walls dating back to the middle ages surround the picturesque old town, which includes a piazza, a fountain, and a castle. There are many restaurants to choose from and the town's exquisite shops have much to offer. There are many smaller shops, selling typical products from the region and 3 large supermarkets. There are excellent transport links from the train station where there are regular services to the main towns and cities of Italy.
Be sure and visit cities such as Chiusi, Paciano, Cortona, Montepulciano, Montalcino (Sant´Antimo, Gregorian chants) Castiglione del Lago, Passignano del Lago, Perugia, Assisi, and Orvieto.
A comfortable, inexpensive train ride is all that separates you from Chiusi, Terontola, Rome, Florence or Orvieto. Buy regional goods in the village or the surrounding area. Ask for tips about restaurants, - the Umbrian cuisine is recognized as the best in Italy.

All holiday home prices are in € per week for the number of people stated in bold unless otherwise stated in € per day. The second number illustrated next to the number of persons who can stay represents the number of additional persons the property can cater for. Sofa beds are provided for additional persons unless it is otherwise stated that additional beds can be made available.
Accommodation weeks usually run from Saturday to Saturday and include linen, water, electricity, and gas unless otherwise stated. The heating costs and housekeeping fees are paid directly to the landlord and are dependent on usage. **Please be aware heating costs are expensive in Italy**.
Almost all landlords require a security deposit between 100 € and 250 € and for some of the more exclusive properties the deposit can be as much as 1000 €. The full balance of the deposit will be returned at the end of stay provided that the property is in the same condition and that are no damaged or broken items. All linens should be returned in the same number and unsoiled on departure. Terre Vitae reserve the right to request the balance due for any items that have been damaged and that have not been disclosed to the caretaker as a part of the contract signed prior to departure.
